Where do the courses take place?
All courses take place in my workshop in Košariská, Slovakia, located in the heart of the Kopanice region, one of the most beautiful parts of the Carpathian Mountains.
If you are travelling with a friend or family member, there are plenty of things to see and do nearby while you attend the course. You can explore historic castles, enjoy scenic cycling trails, or relax in the famous Piešťany spa. Košariská is also ideally located for exploring the region. We are about one hour by car from Bratislava, less than two hours from Vienna, and around four hours from Prague — just a few of the many interesting places you can visit during your stay.
Can I take the course on specific days of the week instead of all at once?
Yes. The course can be split over several days to fit your schedule. If you are only available on Mondays, weekends, or certain days, just get in touch with me and we can work out a schedule together.
Do you offer accommodation and meals?
Yes, for an additional charge. Our workshop is located in a building that also includes accommodation, so we can offer a room for you and, if you wish, a family member or companion for an additional charge. For meals, our small village has three restaurants where you can enjoy lunch during your stay.
Can I pay by PayPal or credit card?
Yes. We accept a wide range of payment methods, including cash, credit and debit cards, bank transfer, PayPal, and Bitcoin. We are a VAT-registered company in Slovakia, where the current VAT rate is 23%. We can also issue an invoice for your company if needed. Regardless of the payment method you choose, the course must be paid in full before it begins.
I have never worked with wood before. Is that a problem?
Not at all. You don't need previous woodworking experience to take the course. If you have basic practical skills and enjoy working with your hands, you can learn to build a guitar. We will show you how to use the woodworking tools and guide you through each stage of the process. Need more time? You can add extra days during the course for €250 per day.
What if I am already a skilled carpenter?
Great! Your woodworking experience means we can spend more time on the parts that are specific to guitar making. For many stages of the build, there are different ways to achieve the same result. We can explore these options together and discuss how different construction choices can influence the sound and musical character of the guitar.
What materials are included with the course?
The necessary materials are included in the course price. There are also several options for customizing your guitar at no extra cost. For example, you can choose between spruce and cedar for the soundboard.
If you have something else in mind, let me know before the course and I will do my best to source it for you. If you would like a particularly rare or exotic material, I can help you find it as well. In some cases, there may be an additional cost for the material.
Is a guitar case included with the course?
No. A guitar case is not included in the course price. You will need to arrange a suitable case separately.
